REVIEW – “Relive gaming on your Commodore 64!”
There are not many things that are as fun as reliving old gaming classics. C64 for iPhone will allow you to do just that with a variety of games that were released for the Commodore 64 computer system! This computer system, almost singlehandedly, established the desktop computer as a legitimate gaming system.
One of the things that I was most surprised about with this app is how much attention was given to the little details. 
Details were not something I expected the authors to pay a lot of attention to when you consider that this app is basically an “emulator” of an old computer system. That detail goes all the way down to the authentic looking power button that you must flip on to go to the main screen for the app.
Touching the “power” button will take you directly to a list of all the games that are available for you to play. The list includes several classic games 
including several different “international” sports games, “Jupiter Lander,” and “Jack Attack.” Once you find the game that you would like to play all you have to do is touch the “Run/Play” button to get started.
Once you start up the game of your choice you will be taken directly to the emulator screen. From here you have two sets of controls. The first one is a collection of keyboard strokes that 
you need to get your game started. The second control set is a “joystick.” You can easily switch between the two sets of controls by touching the button just below the commodore 64 “monitor.”
I was impressed with how smoothly the controls seemed to work. It is even possible to play the game in “full-screen” mode. You do this by tilting your device on its side. Once you are in “full-screen” mode touching the screen anywhere on the left side will push the “button” on the control pad while touching the right side of the screen and dragging will allow you to control the joystick. This setup allows you to play the game literally full screen, without making it impossible to see what you’re doing.
With all of that said, I definitely had fun playing with this app. The best thing this app has going for it is that there will be even more apps coming to it in the near future! Sure these games aren’t exactly cutting edge, but the gameplay is solid and you are getting a variety of classic games for one low price of just $4.99. If you are a hard-core gamer, or even if you just enjoy playing classic games from the past, this is one app that you simply cannot afford to miss!
