C.E.O. : Chief Elevator Operator ($.99)
Version 1.0
REVIEW-” Experience the fast-paced lifestyle of operating an elevator for demanding passengers.”
Now for me I was instantly intrigued by the idea of this game. It just seemed so incredibly simple that I was unsure how it would be considered fun. But I sat down and decided to give C.E.O.: Chief Elevator Operator a try anyway. The game is not for everyone but for those who do enjoy games like this it can be really fun.
The game starts off on your first day on the job. Your boss will come and tell you everything you need to know about running the elevator. When you want the elevator to go up or down you simply flip the red switch up or down. When you want the elevator and let people on and off at a specific floor then you simply press the door open button. The door will close on its own.
The challenge of the game comes from the fact that every time you open the door more people get on the elevator. When they get on they will tell you the number of the floor they would like to be dropped off on. This will only be temporary after that you will simply have to remember which floor they wanted to be on.
Then they will gradually get angrier the longer they wait on the elevator and eventually they will fall asleep and not get off even if the elevator stops on their floor. The only way to wake them up is to ring the alarm. When you do everyone will wake up and tell you what floor they want again. But be careful because the elevator alarm only has a certain amount of battery life so do not over use it.
The game gets increasingly challenging as you continue playing and it only stops once you get fired for having too many sleeping or unhappy passengers.
Now for the good and the bad. The graphics are okay and done like an old fashioned video game. They are cute and I was pleased with them. The game play on the other hand is a bit one dimensional. You never do more than simply take passengers up and down the elevator. It is not even divided into levels but it simply continues without a break. This can be very repetitive and boring if you are not completely in love with the game.
The other minor problem is that you have to have the timing right to get the doors to open on the right floor. This can be frustrating when you have a large amount of people on the elevator.
Personally I think the concept for this game is interesting but it needs a little bit more to completely win me over. It just needs something to change it up and make it more difficult and something that feels progressive.
