Amp up before you score is a FREE APP that gives tips and tricks on how to impress women with different interests. Though the developer of the app, Pepsi co., claims that the app was created to ” show the humorous lengths guys go 2 pick up women,” it can actually be incredibely useful. This app has been called sexist by many critics, but judging by its current place at #46 of the top 50 of the free apps in the app store, some people obviously believe that it has its merit. The app features a list of 24 different TYPES of girls including everything from the “Aspiring Actress” to the “Women’s Studies Major”. After clicking on each stereotype, AMP UP will walk you through common pick up lines, interests, and even link to google maps for local points of interests for each “type”.

The app comes complete with back stories to impress each lady based on her generalized interests. For example for the “Bad Girl”, AMP UP will list possible warrants for your arrest in various states. After you “hook up” with these supposed women, AMP UP allows you to “brag” about your conquests via Twitter and Facebook; it also keeps a running tally of each type that you have successfully “SCORED” with. Although controversial, AMP UP has remained an entertaing app and I believe it will continue to be downloaded/updated in the coming months, and the fact that it’s FREE makes it even better. If you use this app for nothing else, it is still a humorous way to look at stereotypical relationships between men and women.
